Recipe for great value, healthy meals!

Council offers free online cooking course starting this November.

Residents can learn how to cook healthy food on a budget with a free, online cooking course starting Friday 7 November 2025.

The five-week course is run by Sevenoaks District Council. It will teach participants to prepare cost-effective, nutritious and delicious meals whilst learning how to reduce food waste.

Everyone who completes the course will also receive a free slow cooker, vouchers to buy the ingredients needed each week and a recipe book.

This course is open to all residents who live or work in the Sevenoaks District. Places are limited to 12 participants.

Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Places, Cllr Lesley Dyball, says: “We’re delighted to be able to offer cooking class. Learning how to cook is a really important life skill, which is good for both your health and your pocket/ With a free slow cooker, recipe book and shopping vouchers thrown in, we expect this course to be very popular!"

Visit www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/cook to find out more and book a place.

The course is funded by HM Government's Household Support Fund.
