Kent County Council Highways have asked the Parish Council to update their 'Highways Improvement Plan' (HIP) for 2025-26.

This helps to identify and prioritise any problems with/on the roads within the Horton Kirby & South Darenth Parish boundary. A site meeting is then arranged so that we can go through any issues with the officer before the final draft is submitted.

It can include anything from improved signage, traffic calming, waiting restrictions to zebra crossings.

Although the 8 councillors live in different parts of HK&SD, we would also like to hear from YOU.

What improvements would you like to see?

Is there a broken street sign near you?

Would your road benefit from yellow lines or restrictions?

As with any council services, funding is restricted and KCC will bill the Parish Council (i.e. You) for design plans and evaluations. They also state that not all requests will be approved.

The final submission will be considered and agreed at a full Parish Council.

Ideas that you may have must be sent in quickly, by the 23rd September, to;http://[email protected]

or, use the contact page on this website.

Thank You
