From district councillor Alan White:

THE STREET and BULL HILL are at the final stages of gas maintenance and road works. The team are actively working to complete the necessary actions for both roads to be opened end of play SUNDAY 14th DECEMBER. This is still a week ahead of the initial schedule for completion.

A225 DARTFORD ROAD traffic lights will be in situ along the A225 starting from the junction of FRANKS LANE for an estimated 12 week period between January - March 2026.

The gas maintenance and road works will be undertaken in 100m sections. The traffic lights will be adjusted according to the traffic flow to help prevent traffic being displaced elsewhere.

It’s inevitable that as the works continue and the duration the lights are in place, there will be some drivers that will choose to take alternative routes, but their chosen route is unlikely to be any quicker had they chosen to wait for the lights to change.

I suspect we may still see more passing traffic through LOMBARD STREET, FORGE LANE and THE STREET during this period.

At the moment I do not have the schedule for the road closures that will take place at School Lane, Horton Road or Station Road. I will share them as soon as the dates are known.

The team will complete a tour of the area to put impacted verges right - Rays Hill and Bull Hill in particular.

Many thanks, Alan
